The method of catagorising people in terms of their prefrences and standing in society is known at Demographics.
Catagorie A = Top management, bankers, lawyers, doectors, ect.
B = Middle Mannagement, Teachers, Graphic Designers, Ect.
C1 = Office Supervisors, Junior Managers, Nurces, ect.
C2 = Skilled Workers, Tradsmen, (White Collar)
D = Semi-skilled - unskilled manual workers, (Blue Collar)
E = Unenployed, Students, Pentionairs, Casual Workers.

The use and gratifications of theory
- To be informed
- We need to identify with others
- To be entertained
- T o enable themselves to saocialy interact with others by watching (listening, reading) and having a covosation about what you have seen, raed or heard with others who have done the same.
- To escape from their daily troubles and woes.
Hypodermic Needle
- This theory was developed in the 1920's
- Media was still relativly new
- It was also very crude in the opimion of the public.
- It suggests that media happens to people and they have no free choice in weather or not they interact with it.
- Th experience, intellagence and opinion of an individual are not relevant to the reception of the text.
- As an audience, we are nanipulated by the creators of media texts and that our behaviour and thinking might be easily changed by media makers.
Reception Theory
This theory looks at individual circumstances and how it effects the understanding of images, film or media text. This theory is based in Stuart Halls encoding decoding for of relationship.
