The genre I am going to be looking at is horror. This is because I beleive that horror will be a perfect fit for me and my group and the possibilities are endless. Me and my group have discussed a member of great ideas that we can do for our film trailer already.
The Golden Trailer Awards for Best Horror was 'The Devil Inside', produced by Paramount Pictures. This film trailer contains a lot of suspense in order to keep the viewer interested whilst also scared, depending on whether the viewer is a fan of horror films The film also has an open structure in which the conclusion of the movie is not shown.
Multiple still frames of scenes that take place later in the film are shown in order to show the extent of fear that the viewer may generate whilst watching the film whilst still not revealing too much and only previewing the basic storyline and what the film is all about.
At the end of the trailer, most horror trailers show one last frame, still or very short; which will ineveitably be a scary scene from the film. This is done with this film trailer, showing the same still frame that was shown at the beginning, keeping the constant suspense and ending with the title 'Coming Soon'.
